The Opportunity

As Senior Labor Relations Counsel, you'll take the lead on the most challenging labor relations issues facing the organization. This role demands strategic thinking, deep legal expertise, and the ability to navigate complex union negotiations and public sector employment law. You'll be the trusted counsel to senior leadership, shaping labor strategy and protecting organizational interests in matters ranging from contract negotiations to arbitration proceedings and litigation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead negotiations and arbitration proceedings on collective bargaining agreements and labor disputes
• Provide legal counsel to executive leadership on union relations, employment policy, and labor strategy
• Manage and litigate labor-related claims and grievances to protect organizational interests
• Advise on compliance with federal and state labor laws and public sector employment regulations
• Develop strategies to address emerging labor and management challenges
• Represent the organization in administrative proceedings and dispute resolution forums

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor degree and active bar membership in Connecticut or eligible for admission
• Substantial experience in labor law, collective bargaining, and employment litigation
• Proven success handling complex negotiations and arbitration matters
• Familiarity with public sector labor relations and municipal employment issues
• Excellent legal writing, communication, and strategic thinking skills
• Ability to work independently while advising senior leadership effectively
