About the Role
This full-time, mid-level position sits within our Legal department and directly supports the legal mission of a major federal agency. As a Senior FOIA Paralegal, you will manage Freedom of Information Act requests from intake through release, conduct detailed legal review, and provide dependable litigation support to attorneys handling sensitive government matters on-site in Boston.
Key Responsibilities
- Process, track, and respond to FOIA requests in accordance with federal statutes, regulations, and agency policy.
- Perform thorough legal review of documents, including identification of material that may require redaction or exemption.
- Deliver litigation support across the full case lifecycle, assisting attorneys with research, document management, and case preparation.
- Maintain organized records and ensure timely, compliant handling of all assigned legal matters.
- Collaborate with agency stakeholders and the CGS legal team to keep complex caseloads moving efficiently.
Qualifications
- An active security clearance, as required for this engagement.
- Demonstrated experience as a paralegal handling FOIA request processing and legal review.
- Familiarity with litigation support tasks and the procedural demands of federal legal work.
- Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a commitment to accuracy and confidentiality.
