Senior Engineer, Software (SWE) – GIA Platform

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential insurance technology client seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their platform engineering team. Our client is undergoing a significant technical transformation, modernizing their infrastructure and building next-generation systems to serve millions of customers across the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to work on high-performance, low-maintenance platforms while collaborating with distinguished engineers and technical leaders. You'll contribute to critical systems that directly impact customer experience and business operations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, business partners, and engineering teams to solve complex problems in partner integration platforms
• Contribute to technical roadmaps and execute software development strategies to enhance platform capabilities
• Champion software development best practices and safe deployment processes to enable continuous delivery
• Lead day-to-day engineering activities including writing feature code, automated tests, code reviews, and managing CI/CD pipelines
• Serve as a technical project lead and communicate with cross-functional stakeholders
• Leverage data to measure success, identify opportunities, and recommend technical solutions
• Support production workloads and manage incident response

What We're Looking For

Required Experience:

• 4+ years of professional software development experience
• 3+ years of experience with architecture and design
• 3+ years of experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP, or hybrid data center)
• 2+ years of experience in open-source frameworks

Technical Skills:

• Advanced knowledge of at least one modern OOP language (Go preferred,.NET is a plus)
• Extensive experience designing and maintaining highly scalable, reliable production systems
• Strong Test-Driven Development practices (unit, functional, integration, load testing)
• In-depth knowledge of data structures and algorithms
• Understanding of security best practices including certificates and encryption
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• Familiarity with NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB, Redis)
• Strong understanding of service integration standards (gRPC, RESTful APIs)
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD with Infrastructure as Code
• Knowledge of Kubernetes, containers, and K8s best practices
• Experience with development tools across the SDLC (source code management, deployment, test automation)
• Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, CircleCI; knowledge of Terraform/Ansible is a plus
• Excellent communication skills and ability to excel in fast-paced environments

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience
