Senior Employee Benefits Account Manager

North Risk Partners is seeking a Senior Employee Benefits Account Manager to join our team in Clive, Polk County, Iowa. As a full-time member of our growing firm, you'll build deep client relationships while managing complex benefit programs that directly impact businesses and their employees.

About the Role

This senior position is central to our employee benefits practice. You'll serve as the primary strategic advisor for a portfolio of business clients, overseeing all aspects of their benefit plans and ensuring they align with evolving corporate needs and workforce expectations. Your expertise will drive client retention, expand service offerings, and strengthen our reputation in the Iowa market.

What You'll Do

• Manage and grow a book of employee benefits clients, serving as their trusted advisor on plan design, compliance, and cost optimization
• Conduct benefit reviews with clients to assess current programs and identify opportunities for improvement
• Coordinate with carriers, third-party administrators, and internal teams to implement plan changes and renewals
• Analyze client data and market trends to present recommendations that balance cost, coverage, and employee satisfaction
• Ensure all benefit programs maintain regulatory compliance and address changes in employment law
• Prepare renewal proposals and client communications that demonstrate value and expertise
• Serve as subject matter expert for employee benefits questions and emerging industry issues

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional experience in employee benefits, plan administration, or related insurance services
• Strong understanding of group health plans, retirement plans, and ancillary benefit programs
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex benefit topics to diverse audiences
• Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships and drive business growth
• Detail-oriented mindset with strong organizational and project management skills
• Knowledge of ERISA, ACA compliance, and current benefits regulations preferred
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members
