Senior Cost Accountant

Robert Half seeks an accomplished Senior Cost Accountant for a manufacturing company in Frazer, Chester County, Pennsylvania. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact on plant operations and financial performance through expert cost management and strategic accounting oversight.

About the Role

As a Senior Cost Accountant, you'll be a key financial strategist within the manufacturing operation, collaborating closely with plant managers and operations teams to shape financial decisions and improve profitability. Your analytical insights will help leadership understand cost drivers, optimize resource allocation, and strengthen the bottom line.

What You'll Do

• Manage and enhance cost accounting systems and processes to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Oversee inventory valuation and tracking across production facilities
• Analyze manufacturing costs, variances, and profitability metrics to identify improvement opportunities
• Prepare detailed cost reports and variance analyses for leadership review
• Support operational decisions with financial analysis and forecasting
• Collaborate with plant and operations teams to streamline processes and reduce waste
• Maintain internal controls and ensure accurate financial reporting
• Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 5+ years of cost accounting or manufacturing accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, standard costing, and variance analysis
• Proficiency with accounting software and Excel; ERP experience a plus
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders
• Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
• CPA certification preferred but not required
