What You'll Do

• Lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable backend services and APIs that support core product workflows
• Identify performance bottlenecks, improve system resilience, and ensure reliable operation under increasing load
• Partner closely with product managers, frontend engineers, and other stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Conduct thorough code reviews, establish engineering best practices, and mentor mid-level and junior backend engineers
• Drive architectural decisions for microservices, data storage layers, and service-to-service communication
• Debug production issues, analyze logs and metrics, and introduce monitoring improvements that raise overall service quality
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing so the wider team can operate backend components confidently

What You Bring

• Several years of progressive professional experience building and operating backend systems at scale, ideally reaching SDE 3 or equivalent senior responsibility
• Deep proficiency in at least one modern backend language along with confident use of frameworks, libraries, and testing tools common to server-side development
• Solid command of relational and non-relational databases, caching strategies, message queues, and API design principles
• Proven experience designing distributed systems, applying microservices patterns, and thinking through trade-offs around consistency, latency, and cost
• Strong problem-solving skills, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to explain technical choices to both engineers and non-technical partners
• Familiarity with continuous integration practices, automated testing, and containerized deployment workflows expected of a Senior Backend Engineer (SDE 3)
• A university degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience that demonstrates senior-level competence
