Anthropologie Buyer – Special Projects

Urban Outfitters, Inc. is seeking a Buyer for Special Projects based in National Park, Gloucester County. In this full-time position, you'll develop merchandising strategies and curate product assortments for specialized Anthropologie store formats, driving revenue and customer satisfaction across our diverse retail footprint.

About the Role

As Buyer for Special Projects at Anthropologie, you'll drive strategic merchandising for our highest-impact specialty stores and retail initiatives. This is a hands-on buying role that shapes how our customers experience our brand across different store environments and selling occasions.

What You'll Do

• Develop and execute assortment strategies tailored to new store openings, seasonal formats, and specialty location needs
• Analyze customer demand, market trends, and inventory performance to optimize product selection and profitability
• Collaborate with store operations, visual merchandising, and marketing teams to align inventory with store positioning
• Manage vendor relationships, negotiate terms, and coordinate product flow to meet assortment timelines
• Prepare financial forecasts, track inventory KPIs, and report on category performance to leadership
• Identify and capitalize on emerging product opportunities and market gaps within assigned categories
• Support merchandise planning for small-format locations, warm-weather markets, and other specialized store groups

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of buying, merchandising, or equivalent retail planning experience
• Demonstrated expertise in assortment planning and product mix optimization
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in retail systems, data analysis, and financial modeling
• Excellent negotiation and vendor management capabilities
• Knowledge of market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive retail landscape
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple categories simultaneously
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
