Core Duties
- Evaluate prospective and existing customers using comprehensive due diligence frameworks, from initial onboarding assessments through ongoing transaction surveillance.
- Review investigations into suspicious activities, international sanctions exposure, and enhanced due diligence scenarios with meticulous attention to regulatory requirements.
- Triage escalated cases from operational and business teams, resolving exceptions and complex queries using sound judgment and documented policies.
- Champion improvements to our risk frameworks, detection methodologies, and compliance workflows through evidence-based recommendations.
- Function as a trusted advisor within the compliance organisation, maintaining expertise across AML legislation, fraud typologies, merchant risk categories, and monitoring best practices.
- Maintain flawless documentation, adherence to filing standards, and clear communication of findings to internal partners and regulatory stakeholders.
- Leverage industry-standard screening systems—including Dow Jones Risk and Compliance and LexisNexis—to surface potential exposures swiftly.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional qualification.
- Proven expertise in AML, sanctions compliance, or financial crime prevention.
- Familiarity with customer support and CRM platforms (such as Freshdesk) or similar systems.
- Knowledge of payment card disputes: chargeback mechanics, arbitration procedures, Visa and Mastercard regulations, and associated reason codes.
- Exceptional clarity and precision in both written and spoken communication.
- Strong listening acumen: grasping nuanced queries, foreseeing customer needs, and resolving concerns across stakeholder groups.
- Meticulous accuracy and organisational discipline; capacity to juggle multiple workstreams whilst catching discrepancies and irregular patterns.
- Professional presence in voice and written correspondence—courteous, assured, and solution-focused.
