About the Role

HBE LLP is seeking a Senior Accountant - Tax to deliver strategic tax planning, compliance, and advisory services to clients across diverse industries. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work on complex tax matters, mentor junior staff, and deepen client relationships while expanding your technical expertise in a collaborative professional environment.

What You'll Do

• Prepare, review, and manage federal, state, and local tax returns for business entities, partnerships, S-corporations, and individuals
• Develop proactive tax strategies and advise clients on minimizing liabilities and optimizing tax positions
• Conduct tax research and stay current on regulatory changes affecting clients' businesses
• Coordinate with clients to gather documentation and ensure timely and accurate filings
• Support audit engagements and coordinate tax components with audit procedures
• Supervise and guide junior accounting staff on tax matters and engagement procedures
• Participate in business development and expand client relationships through consultative advisory work
• Contribute to firm initiatives and maintain compliance with professional and quality standards

What We're Looking For

• CPA license or pursuit of licensure; relevant accounting degree required
• 3+ years of progressive tax accounting experience in a professional services environment
• Strong technical proficiency in federal and state tax compliance and planning
• Solid understanding of audit standards and coordination between tax and audit functions
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain tax concepts to diverse clients
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a busy season
• Professional demeanor and commitment to delivering high-quality client service
