Jackson Physician Search invites a Cardiothoracic Surgeon to join our full-time open-heart surgery program in Marquette, Michigan, where you'll operate in one of the nation's largest independent cardiothoracic practices while practicing in a collegial environment on Lake Superior's shore.

The Opportunity

This is an ideal role for early-career cardiothoracic surgeons seeking structured mentorship, reasonable case volumes, and the chance to develop expertise in both cardiac and general thoracic surgery. Our Marquette location serves a robust patient base requiring approximately 80–100 coronary artery bypass grafts, valve repairs and replacements, and thoracic procedures annually. The program emphasizes hands-on learning with experienced faculty oversight, supported by state-of-the-art technology including the da Vinci robotic surgical system for enhanced precision and minimally invasive options.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform adult cardiac surgery procedures, including coronary artery bypass, valve surgery, and aortic operations
• Execute general thoracic surgical cases such as lung resections, mediastinal procedures, and esophageal surgery
• Utilize advanced robotic and conventional techniques to optimize patient outcomes
• Participate in preoperative evaluations, intraoperative decision-making, and postoperative patient management
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including cardiologists, intensivists, and nursing staff
• Contribute to surgical teaching and mentorship of junior colleagues

Who We're Looking For

• MD or DO with completion of accredited cardiothoracic surgery training
• Current or eligible for medical licensure in Michigan
• Board certified or board eligible in Thoracic Surgery
• Strong technical skills and commitment to evidence-based surgical practice
• Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication across disciplines
• Interest in continued professional development and mentorship relationships
