Security Officer | International Consultancy Level 1 Roster | Gaza, Palestine

WFP is seeking a Security Officer to support its operations in Gaza, West Bank & Gaza on a consultancy basis. This full-time role is essential to maintaining the safety and security of personnel, beneficiaries, and critical humanitarian infrastructure across the region.

About the Role

The Security Officer position offers an opportunity to work within the World Food Programme's security framework in one of the world's most challenging operational environments. As part of the International Consultancy Level 1 Roster, you will report directly to security management and contribute to comprehensive security planning, threat assessment, and incident response protocols that protect WFP's ability to deliver lifesaving assistance throughout Gaza, West Bank & Gaza.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular security assessments and monitor conditions affecting personnel safety and operational integrity
• Implement and enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols across assigned locations
• Document security incidents, hazards, and concerns; prepare detailed reports for senior management review
• Coordinate with local security authorities, field teams, and regional security advisors on ongoing security matters
• Support security briefings and training for newly deployed staff arriving in the region
• Patrol assigned areas and maintain situational awareness of evolving security dynamics

Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years' experience in security operations, preferably in humanitarian or international settings
• Strong knowledge of security risk assessment and threat analysis methodologies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; fluency in Arabic is highly valued
• Ability to remain calm, objective, and professional under pressure in complex security environments
• Valid security clearance or capacity to obtain one; willingness to undergo background vetting as required
• Physical fitness and ability to work flexible hours, including on-call availability during emergencies
