Security Customer Service Officer

The Opportunity

We're seeking a dedicated Security Customer Service Officer to join our team at Gyle Shopping Centre. Working on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern at 42 hours per week (£13.54 per hour), you'll play a vital role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for thousands of visitors daily. This position offers the chance to make a real difference in a busy, well-established retail hub that attracts customers from across Edinburgh and the surrounding areas.

Your Responsibilities

• Maintain visible security presence throughout the shopping centre and respond promptly to any incidents or concerns
• Provide exceptional customer service, assisting visitors with enquiries, directions, and support
• Monitor and patrol designated areas to ensure safety and compliance with security protocols
• Handle customer issues professionally and resolve situations with courtesy and efficiency
• Report on security matters and maintain accurate incident documentation
• Support the wider security team to uphold the highest standards of service

Qualifications

• Previous experience in security, customer service, or a related field (desirable)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional in busy retail environments
• Reliability and punctuality with flexibility to work the scheduled shift pattern
