Safety, Health and Environmental Specialist

Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases is seeking a Safety, Health and Environmental Specialist for our Escondido facility in San Diego County. In this full-time role, you'll develop and lead safety and environmental compliance programs for our LNG and industrial gases operations.

About the Role

As Safety, Health and Environmental Specialist, you'll implement comprehensive occupational health and environmental protection initiatives across our Escondido facility. You'll report to management and work directly with all levels of our organization to ensure regulatory compliance, reduce workplace hazards, and build a strong safety culture.

What You'll Do

• Design and execute safety policies, procedures, and training programs aligned with OSHA, EPA, and industry regulations
• Conduct facility inspections, safety audits, and hazard assessments to identify and mitigate risks
• Investigate incidents and near-misses; document findings and implement corrective actions
• Manage regulatory compliance documentation and coordinate with regulatory agencies
• Train employees on safety protocols, hazardous materials handling, and emergency procedures
• Track safety metrics, identify improvements, and foster a proactive safety culture across the organization
• Stay current on regulatory changes and industry best practices in occupational and environmental safety

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, environmental science, industrial hygiene, or related field (or equivalent professional experience)
• Proven experience implementing safety programs in industrial or manufacturing environments
• Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, EPA regulations, and process safety management (PSM)
• Excellent communication and training skills; ability to engage employees at all levels
• Strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within San Diego County as needed
