The Opportunity

Milton Hershey School, a cost-free residential school for pre-K–12 students, is seeking compassionate Residential Youth Caregivers to support the daily home life of its students. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating a safe and nurturing environment, supervising routines, assisting with homework, teaching essential life skills, and encouraging positive behavior among our students.

• Create a supportive and inclusive living environment
• Supervise daily routines and activities
• Aid in the completion of homework assignments
• Teach practical life skills to enhance student development
• Promote positive behavior through guidance and mentorship

Core Duties

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with educational and support staff to ensure the holistic development of students
• Maintaining a safe and clean living space for all residents
• Providing emotional support and guidance to foster personal growth
• Participating in regular team meetings and professional development opportunities
• Documenting student progress and communicating with parents/guardians as needed

Who We're Looking For

We are seeking candidates who possess the following qualifications:

• A deep commitment to supporting the well-being of young people
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in youth development or related field is preferred but not required
• Patient, empathetic, and able to handle challenging situations with grace
• Able to work effectively as part of a team and independently when necessary
