Join Children's Home Society of South Dakota as a Relief Residential Youth Counselor at our Pactola Lake campus in Pennington County. This is a part-time position providing evening and weekend support to children and adolescents in our residential program.
About the Role
We're seeking compassionate, dependable professionals to serve as part of our residential counseling team. You'll provide direct supervision, emotional support, and trauma-informed care to young people in our residential community. This relief position offers flexibility for those who prefer evening and weekend scheduling, with compensation at $20 per hour plus up to $2 per hour shift differential for schedule adjustments.
What You'll Do
- Supervise and support children and adolescents during evening and weekend hours
- Implement trauma-informed, relationship-based care practices
- Respond to behavioral and emotional needs with compassion and consistency
- Maintain safe residential environments and enforce program guidelines
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support each child's developmental goals
- Document observations and interactions accurately
- Participate in training and professional development
