About the Role

As a Repair and Tool Technician at Home Depot's Glenview location, you'll diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair small engines, outdoor power equipment, and handheld electrical tools. Your expertise will be essential in both our in-store Tool Rental Center and dedicated repair facilities, where you'll restore equipment to reliable working condition and help customers make informed choices about their tools and rentals.

What You'll Do

• Perform diagnostic evaluations on small engines, lawn mowers, trimmers, chainsaws, drills, and other handheld power tools
• Execute repairs using appropriate tools and replacement parts while maintaining quality standards
• Maintain accurate records of service history and repair work completed
• Recommend maintenance and repair options to customers, explaining costs and timelines
• Ensure all equipment meets safety standards before returning to customers or rental inventory
• Support Tool Rental Center operations by inspecting rental equipment for damage and wear
• Keep your work area organized and maintain compliance with safety protocols

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on experience repairing small engines, power tools, or outdoor equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read schematics, manuals, and technical documentation
