Rehab – Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA)

Tender Touch Rehab Services seeks a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) for a part-time position in District Heights, Prince George's County. Bring your clinical skills and patient focus to our rehabilitation practice, working directly with patients in their recovery journey.

About This Position

This part-time COTA role positions you as a vital member of our clinical team at Tender Touch Rehab Services. Working under the direct supervision of a licensed occupational therapist, you'll implement evidence-based treatment interventions, support patients through therapeutic activities, and contribute meaningfully to their functional recovery and independence. The position offers the opportunity to apply your expertise in a direct patient-care setting focused on rehabilitation excellence.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Deliver therapeutic interventions according to occupational therapist-designed treatment plans
• Guide patients through activities designed to improve functional mobility and independence
• Facilitate adaptive techniques and hands-on practice for activities of daily living (ADL)
• Monitor patient response to treatment and document progress accurately
• Maintain therapeutic equipment, treatment spaces, and infection control standards
• Collaborate with occupational therapists and the broader clinical team on patient progress
• Provide encouragement and education to support patient compliance and engagement

Skills & Qualifications

• Active COTA certification (NBCOT-certified or state-licensed as required)
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with patients and clinical colleagues
• Patience, empathy, and genuine commitment to patient outcomes
• Physical capability to assist patients with movement and therapeutic activities
• Organized approach to documentation and clinical responsibilities
• Ability to work effectively under occupational therapist supervision
