In this full-time role, you'll shape our regulatory strategy, build strategic relationships with government bodies, and drive PolicyStreet's policy agenda across Malaysia's financial and insurance sectors.

Position Summary

As Regulatory and Government Affairs Lead, you will serve as PolicyStreet's primary point of contact with regulatory authorities, government agencies, and industry bodies. You'll develop and execute regulatory strategies that enable the company to operate effectively whilst maintaining compliance with evolving standards. This role bridges PolicyStreet's business objectives with Malaysia's regulatory landscape, requiring both strategic foresight and operational diligence.

Core Duties

  • Monitor changes to financial services, insurance, and consumer protection regulations affecting PolicyStreet's operations in Malaysia
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Bank Negara Malaysia, Securities Commission, and other key regulatory bodies
  • Lead policy analysis and provide recommendations on proposed regulatory changes
  • Represent PolicyStreet in industry forums, working groups, and government consultations
  • Prepare regulatory submissions, responses to consultations, and compliance documentation
  • Collaborate with internal teams to implement regulatory requirements and manage compliance risks
  • Track legislative developments and advise on implications for company strategy
  • Communicate regulatory updates and advocacy initiatives across the organisation

Requirements

  • Proven experience in regulatory affairs, government relations, or policy roles within financial services or insurance sectors
  • Strong understanding of Malaysia's regulatory framework and government processes
  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to synthesise complex regulatory information and communicate clearly to non-specialist audiences
  • Strategic thinking with keen attention to detail
  • Bachelor's degree in law, business, economics, public policy, or related field
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
