About the Role
As a Real Estate Appraiser with the City of Norfolk, you will research, gather, and evaluate property data to determine equitable assessed values for residential real estate. This position offers progression across three levels (I, II, and III) and plays a direct part in supporting the city's assessment and taxation functions. The role is based on-site in Norfolk, Virginia, and is not remote.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate, compile, and analyze property information to reach fair and consistent valuations of residential real estate.
- Conduct appraisals of properties throughout the assessment jurisdiction.
- Help administer and coordinate the tax abatement program.
- Carry out sales validations to confirm the accuracy of recorded transactions.
- Complete related assessment documentation and supporting analysis.
Qualifications
