Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential consumer products organization based in Düsseldorf. In this product development role, you will:

• Analyze market opportunities, industry trends, and customer needs to develop innovative product concepts for baby sleep products and apparel
• Guide the complete product development process from initial concept through production readiness, creating technical specifications, optimizing patterns and sizing charts, and developing solutions for high-quality, durable, and safe manufacturing
• Coordinate development and sampling of new products, evaluate prototypes, and derive improvements for function, quality, fit, and user experience
• Collaborate closely with international suppliers, align technical requirements, and support implementation of new product concepts through to production
• Ensure products meet the highest quality and safety standards by developing testing concepts and supporting internal and external quality and safety assessments
• Analyze legal and regulatory requirements, evaluate new product ideas for safety and sustainability, and establish concrete development requirements
• Coordinate relevant certifications including GOTS, OEKO-TEX®, and other product-specific standards
• Analyze customer feedback, return reasons, and complaints to continuously improve products
• Work cross-functionally with product management, purchasing, quality assurance, and supply chain teams to ensure smooth information flow throughout the development process

What We're Looking For

• Degree in textile/apparel technology, product development, or comparable qualification
• Minimum three years of practical experience in product development, textile technology, or quality management of textile products
• Strong understanding of product details, materials, manufacturing techniques, and customer needs
• Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements, ideally with experience in product safety and certifications
• Proficiency with design software (Illustrator, Photoshop) and MS Office
• Excellent German and English language skills, written and verbal
• Entrepreneurial spirit, creativity, initiative, and passion for continuous product improvement
