Production and Test Planner

True Anomaly is hiring a Production and Test Planner in Long Beach, CA to lead mission-critical scheduling for our spacecraft manufacturing and test operations. This full-time, on-site position is essential to keeping our production pipeline efficient and meeting aggressive delivery timelines.

Role Overview

As Production and Test Planner, you lead production and test scheduling for spacecraft manufacturing operations, owning planning, coordination, and capacity management. You'll create and maintain production schedules in MRP/PLM systems, orchestrate work sequences across engineering and technicians, and deliver real-time visibility into status, bottlenecks, and resource constraints. Working alongside the Director of Production and Test Engineering, you'll convert program milestones into actionable work packages and keep spacecraft flowing through production efficiently. This role demands organizational discipline, attention to detail, and clear cross-team communication.

Your Responsibilities

• Create and maintain production and test schedules at the task level using MRP/PLM/MES platforms
• Manage daily and weekly coordination with production technicians, test engineers, and manufacturing engineers
• Monitor work orders, detect schedule delays and resource bottlenecks, and flag risks early to leadership
• Develop inputs for the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) based on detailed production schedules
• Conduct capacity planning and staffing forecasts to identify equipment, personnel, and facility constraints
• Manage test stand and facility reservations (TVAC, vibration, EMI/EMC, FlatSat) for optimal utilization
• Produce schedule reports and performance metrics (delivery timeliness, cycle time, resource use) for leadership
• Support production meetings with status updates, critical path analysis, and action item resolution
• Engage with procurement and supply chain to ensure materials and tooling are available on schedule
• Document as-built configurations, test results, and schedule performance in PLM/MES systems
• Contribute to process improvements by analyzing scheduling bottlenecks and suggesting enhancements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field; or equivalent professional experience
• 3+ years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or operations management in manufacturing or aerospace environments
• Working knowledge of MRP, PLM, or MES software (SAP, Oracle, Epicor, Dassault, Siemens Teamcenter, or similar)
• Deep understanding of scheduling methodology, capacity planning, and critical path management
• Track record of coordinating across multiple departments with conflicting timelines and priorities
• Strong communication ability to present schedule updates and risks to diverse stakeholder groups
• Highly organized and detail-focused with capability to juggle multiple production schedules simultaneously
• Hands-on expertise in Microsoft Excel, Project, or comparable scheduling and analysis tools

Preferred: Background in aerospace or space systems manufacturing; familiarity with AS9100/ISO9001 standards; experience scheduling specialized test equipment; knowledge of lean manufacturing methods; involvement in complex program Integrated Master Schedules; capability with Gantt and PERT analysis; proficiency in data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) or programming (Python, SQL); understanding of spacecraft integration and test processes; current or qualifying DoD security clearance status.
