What This Role Involves
As the Product Manager, Games Discovery at Netflix, you sit within the New Content Exploration team of the Product Merchandising organization and own the direction for games-related discovery and engagement surfaces. You operate at the junction of product, technology, and games teams to keep product evolution aligned with content plans. Your focus covers setting strategy, clarifying member needs, building roadmaps, and defining experimentation methods so multiple content formats can succeed on one platform. You coordinate with other product managers so games experiences fit cleanly alongside live events, podcasts, and additional formats across television, mobile, tablet, and web. The work requires comfort in a high-tempo environment, daily collaboration with technical and creative specialists, skillful tradeoff decisions, and the ability to build support while advancing progress through incomplete information.
Key Responsibilities
- Resolve open questions and surface opportunities to improve current discovery paths or invent new features and capabilities
- Form a clear roadmap and guide ideas from initial concept through validation, launch, measurement, and ongoing refinement
- Prepare strategy documents and presentations that explain the games product direction and plan to the broader organization for shared visibility
- Gather a wide range of perspectives so the highest-impact strategic games work stays in focus
- Align design, engineering, consumer insights, merchandising, and data science colleagues to deliver high-quality outcomes
- Build supporting business rationales and quantify the results of product changes together with data partners
- Develop deep knowledge of changing member needs and communicate those insights with design and research collaborators
Skills & Qualifications
- Seven or more years creating consumer products and features while managing complex tradeoffs
- Prior work on games streaming products at significant scale plus solid understanding of the games lifecycle
- Proven capacity to own the full product development cycle from conception through planning and launch
- Demonstrated success leading a domain and securing alignment across multiple organizations
- Hands-on A/B testing experience combined with commercial judgment for defining metrics, designing experiments, tracking outcomes, and partnering with data science
- High attention to detail that connects individual experience elements to larger team and company goals
- Strong data-informed judgment that uses evidence to shape accurate narratives
- Balance of collaborative openness to differing views with decisive communication of clear vision
- Active interest in seeking feedback and continuous improvement
