About the Role

The Product Counsel Senior Director is a senior legal leadership position responsible for providing strategic legal guidance to Rocket Software's product development, engineering, and service delivery organizations. You will partner directly with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to navigate complex legal, regulatory, and compliance challenges throughout the product lifecycle—from conception through market deployment and ongoing operations.

What You'll Do

• Serve as the principal legal advisor to product, engineering, and services leadership teams on matters ranging from contractual obligations to regulatory compliance
• Direct Rocket Software's responsible AI legal program, ensuring ethical governance and regulatory alignment as AI capabilities expand across product offerings
• Provide proactive legal counsel on intellectual property protection, data privacy, consumer protection, and industry-specific regulations affecting product strategy
• Lead risk assessment and mitigation for new product features, business models, and market expansion initiatives
• Advise on vendor agreements, licensing arrangements, and partnership structures that support product growth
• Mentor and develop legal talent to support the product and engineering organization

What We're Looking For

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active bar admission in any US jurisdiction
• 10+ years of legal experience in product counsel, technology law, or related fields at growth-stage organizations
• Demonstrated expertise in AI governance, emerging technology regulation, and responsible innovation frameworks
• Strong leadership presence with ability to influence cross-functional teams and executive stakeholders
• Excellent communication skills—translating complex legal concepts into actionable business guidance
• Strategic mindset balanced with pragmatic problem-solving in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
