Procurement Specialist – Transportation Market

About the Role

This is a full-time Procurement Specialist position that sits at the center of our transportation market sourcing strategy. You'll work from our Atlanta office managing the procurement lifecycle for materials, services, and equipment that support our infrastructure solutions. As a key member of our supply chain team, you'll balance cost control, quality, and relationship-building to deliver competitive advantage for Gresham Smith.

What You'll Do

• Source, evaluate, and contract with vendors and suppliers for transportation-sector materials and services
• Lead price negotiations and contract discussions to secure favorable terms and cost savings
• Create, process, and manage purchase orders with precision and compliance
• Develop and nurture strategic supplier relationships in the transportation and infrastructure markets
• Track supplier quality and performance metrics to keep projects on track
• Analyze procurement spend and market data to uncover cost reduction and efficiency gains
• Collaborate with project managers and operational teams to understand and fulfill procurement needs
• Maintain comprehensive procurement records for compliance, audit, and regulatory purposes

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in procurement, supply chain, or purchasing roles
• Proven negotiation and vendor management skills with track record of results
• Expert-level proficiency with procurement software and Microsoft Office applications
• Solid grasp of supply chain operations and best practices
• Strong analytical, organizational, and multitasking abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration
• Background in transportation, infrastructure, or construction procurement highly valued
• Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, procurement, or related discipline preferred
