About the Role
As Principal Engineer, SoC Architect at Ayar Labs, you'll drive the design and architecture of system-on-chip solutions that enable co-packaged optics—revolutionary technology that moves data at the speed of light to power AI infrastructure. You'll own SoC strategy from concept through production, leading a critical function in our technical roadmap.
What You'll Do
- Architect silicon systems for optical communication, defining specifications and technical approach
- Partner with cross-functional teams in circuit design, firmware, and systems integration
- Drive design decisions on signaling, power efficiency, manufacturability, and performance optimization
- Lead technical validation from simulation through silicon bring-up
- Set technical direction and influence product strategy at the principal level
What We're Looking For
- Deep expertise in SoC design and chip architecture
- Proven experience with high-speed signaling, mixed-signal design, or optical interfaces
- Strong knowledge of design methodology, verification, and silicon bring-up
- Technical leadership experience and ability to work across hardware and software
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent
