Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive virtual evaluations for patients presenting with urgent and emergent complaints using secure telemedicine tools
• Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic data as allowed within telemedicine scope to reach safe, timely clinical conclusions
• Formulate treatment plans, prescribe medications when appropriate, and provide clear aftercare instructions tailored to each encounter
• Document every visit thoroughly in the electronic health record system to support continuity of care and regulatory compliance
• Coordinate hand-offs or escalations with on-site colleagues, specialists, or emergency facilities when in-person intervention is required
• Participate in brief case reviews and quality discussions to refine telemedicine emergency medicine standards for the Detroit-based team

What You Bring

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
• Board certification or active eligibility in Emergency Medicine
• Unrestricted medical license permitting practice in Michigan, or ability to secure one promptly
• Demonstrated competence managing adults and/or pediatric acute presentations
• Comfort navigating telehealth technology and electronic documentation platforms
• Excellent verbal communication skills for conveying complex information clearly to patients and colleagues
• Reliable clinical judgment and the self-direction needed for independent, part-time telemedicine shifts
