Position Summary

What You'll Do

• Manage a portfolio of common-law claims arising from abuse, taking files from first instructions through to resolution
• Meet with clients to gather thorough histories, explain rights and process, and set realistic expectations
• Draft pleadings, statements of claim, affidavits and supporting court documents to a high standard
• Conduct negotiations and attend settlement conferences on behalf of clients
• Instruct counsel and coordinate medical and other expert evidence to strengthen each matter
• Monitor limitation periods and procedural requirements to keep cases moving efficiently
• Deliver practical advice that balances empathy for sensitive subject matter with commercial and legal realism

Requirements

• Minimum two years of post-admission experience in personal-injury practice, ideally including abuse or other common-law files
• A current Australian practising certificate valid for work in New South Wales
• Working knowledge of common-law principles and legislation governing personal-injury recovery
• Demonstrated skill in file ownership, legal research, drafting and strategic decision-making
• Clear written and oral communication, especially when dealing with clients who have experienced trauma
• Self-motivation combined with a willingness to collaborate inside a plaintiff-focused team
