People Business Partner (HME & Fleet)

About This Position

As a People Business Partner at HME & Fleet, you'll be a strategic enabler and trusted advisor to our HME and Fleet division. Working alongside senior leaders and operational teams, you'll translate business objectives into people strategies that drive engagement, capability, and performance. This is a hands-on role combining strategic thinking with real, daily impact on people matters across the business.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Partner with divisional leaders to understand business ambitions and develop aligned people strategies and initiatives
• Provide strategic and tactical HR support spanning recruitment, retention, learning and development, and performance management
• Lead or support organisational change programmes, ensuring smooth transitions and strong team engagement throughout
• Act as an employee advocate and trusted confidant, helping resolve complex people issues with both empathy and business acumen
• Design and deliver targeted development programmes and coaching to strengthen manager effectiveness
• Monitor employee engagement, retention metrics and team wellbeing, identifying opportunities to improve
• Contribute to wider people strategy, policies and initiatives that strengthen our organisational culture

Qualifications

• CIPD qualification (Level 5 or equivalent) or demonstrable strategic HR experience at this level
• Proven track record as a People Business Partner or similar strategic human resources role
• Strong knowledge of employment law, people processes and HR best practice
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management capability
• Ability to balance strategic vision with practical, operational problem-solving
• Experience supporting organisational change and building engagement during transitions
• Comfortable interpreting data and metrics to drive informed people decisions
