Join the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus as an Open Rank Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery in Aurora, Colorado. This full-time, tenure-eligible faculty position invites accomplished researchers to lead innovative work in auditory and vestibular function research.

What This Role Involves

You will establish and direct a research program centered on understanding auditory and vestibular physiology and its clinical implications. Working within an academically rigorous medical campus environment, you'll integrate scientific investigation with clinical expertise, contributing to both basic discovery and translational applications that improve patient outcomes. Your program will benefit from institutional research infrastructure and opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, conduct, and oversee independent research investigations in auditory and/or vestibular biology and pathophysiology
• Secure and manage extramural research funding through competitive grant mechanisms
• Author and publish original research in peer-reviewed journals and scientific venues
• Deliver didactic instruction to medical students and otolaryngology residents
• Supervise and mentor junior investigators, postdoctoral fellows, and graduate students
• Participate actively in departmental and institutional committees and professional advancement initiatives
• Collaborate with the Department of Physiology & Biophysics and related research clusters

What You Bring

• Earned PhD, MD, or equivalent terminal degree in a relevant scientific or clinical discipline
• Established track record of research achievements in auditory and/or vestibular science
• Proven capacity to develop competitive grant applications and secure research funding
• Strong portfolio of peer-reviewed publications demonstrating scientific leadership
• Genuine commitment to medical education and the mentorship of emerging researchers
• Experience working across disciplines and fostering collaborative research environments
