Nurse Educator Medical Surgical

About the Role

As a Nurse Educator in our Medical Surgical department, you'll design and deliver educational programs that strengthen clinical competencies across your unit. Working within HCA Florida Osceola Hospital's innovation-driven environment, you'll develop curriculum, assess learning needs, and mentor nursing staff to ensure every team member can deliver exceptional patient care and master the advanced protocols that define our clinical excellence.

What You'll Do

• Create and facilitate educational programs tailored to Medical Surgical nursing competencies and evidence-based clinical standards
• Assess staff learning needs and design targeted interventions to support professional development and clinical mastery
• Mentor and support nursing team members in applying best practices, including advanced protocols for stroke response, sepsis detection, and surgical recovery
• Develop training materials and coordinate on-unit education sessions to reinforce clinical knowledge and procedural competency
• Collaborate with clinical leadership to identify skill gaps and implement solutions that enhance care delivery
• Evaluate program effectiveness and adjust curriculum based on learning outcomes and clinical feedback
• Support the integration of new clinical technologies and evidence-based protocols across the Medical Surgical unit

What We're Looking For

• Current RN licensure in Florida (or eligibility to obtain)
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field preferred
• Minimum 3–5 years of nursing experience, ideally in Medical Surgical or acute care settings
• Experience teaching, mentoring, or developing clinical staff
• Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and educational best practices
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with clinical teams and nursing leadership
