About the Role

As an instructional coach you will partner with teachers, administrators, and curriculum specialists to enhance the quality of humanities education. Your work centers on modeling effective practices, facilitating collaborative planning, and providing targeted feedback that aligns with district goals for learning and innovation.

What You'll Do

• Deliver job‑embedded professional development focused on middle school humanities content and pedagogy.
• Observe classroom instruction, collect evidence of student learning, and offer constructive coaching conversations.
• Collaborate with grade‑level teams to design interdisciplinary units that integrate language arts, history, and civics.
• Support the implementation of district‑adopted curriculum resources and assessment tools.
• Facilitate data‑driven instructional cycles, helping teachers analyze performance trends and adjust strategies.
• Mentor novice educators and lead study groups on best practices in differentiated instruction and culturally responsive teaching.
• Contribute to district committees that shape humanities standards, instructional materials, and assessment policies.
• Maintain accurate records of coaching activities, progress notes, and outcomes for reporting purposes.

What We're Looking For

• Valid Texas teaching certification with a concentration in English Language Arts, Social Studies, or a related humanities field.
• Minimum of three years of successful middle school classroom teaching experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in coaching or instructional leadership, preferably within a K‑12 setting.
• Strong knowledge of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for English Language Arts and Social Studies.
• Proficiency with current educational technology platforms used for lesson delivery and data analysis.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills that foster trust and collaboration.
• Ability to travel between assigned campuses within the district as needed.
• Commitment to ongoing professional learning and staying current with research‑based instructional practices.
