Medicaid Biller

CommuniCare Health Services is hiring a full-time Medicaid Biller for our Central Billing Office in Indianapolis, Indiana. If you're detail-oriented, motivated by accuracy, and skilled at managing healthcare billing cycles, we want to meet you.

About the Role

As a Medicaid Biller at our Indianapolis location, you'll be the backbone of our revenue cycle operations. You'll manage the complete billing lifecycle—from claim submission through payment reconciliation—ensuring that CommuniCare captures every dollar owed for the healthcare services we provide to our patients. Your work directly impacts both our financial health and our ability to continue delivering quality care.

What You'll Do

• Process and submit Medicaid claims accurately and on time, following all payer-specific requirements and guidelines
• Audit patient accounts and receivables to identify discrepancies, coding errors, or missing documentation
• Pursue outstanding payments through collections activities, including follow-up calls, correspondence, and claim appeals
• Investigate claim denials and rejections, determine root causes, and resubmit corrected claims
• Verify patient Medicaid eligibility before services are rendered and update information as needed
• Maintain organized, accurate billing records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations
• Communicate professionally with payers, patients, and internal teams to resolve billing questions

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience working in healthcare billing, medical coding, or revenue cycle management
• Strong understanding of Medicaid billing requirements, policies, and procedures
• Proficiency with medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills with ability to juggle multiple claims and accounts
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all billing transactions
• Professional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams
