About This Position

These Part Time openings for Mechanical Fitters and Boilermakers involve hands-on support for the commission process and the modification of a newly built plant attached to Australia's leading lithium producer. Originating under family ownership in 2003, Mitchell Mine Engineering Services has focused its efforts for 23 years on the successful completion of projects for many of the biggest mining firms in Australia. Candidates will operate from the Pippingarra, Port Hedland Area and form part of the larger project team advancing this important piece of work.

Responsibilities

• Install, assemble and align mechanical plant systems and equipment during commissioning stages
• Fabricate, weld and install metal components or structural elements required for plant modifications
• Inspect, fault-find and repair mechanical fitments and fabricated assemblies on the live site
• Read and work accurately from technical drawings and specifications for both fitting and boilermaking tasks
• Maintain safe working practices and high workmanship standards while integrating changes into the overall facility

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter, Boilermaker or closely equivalent recognised certification
• Demonstrated practical experience performing mechanical fitting or metal fabrication work in industrial plant environments
• Competence with common mechanical tools, welding plant and fabrication techniques used on project sites
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a project team on active commissioning or modification activities
• Availability for Part Time work at the Pippingarra location in the Port Hedland Area
