Manual Machinist

GA Telesis, LLC is seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join its team in Fort Lauderdale, Broward County.

About the Role

As a Manual Machinist, you will produce precision components that support GA Telesis’ aviation and aerospace solutions. Working in a full‑time capacity, you will operate conventional machine tools to fabricate parts that meet exacting industry standards.

What You'll Do

• Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and grinders to produce parts from metal alloys and composites.
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining sequences and tolerances.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, speeds, and feeds; perform tool changes and adjustments as needed.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and dial indicators to verify dimensions.
• Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance.
• Document production data, inspection results, and any deviations in accordance with quality control procedures.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, wear required personal protective equipment, and maintain a clean work environment.
• Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and fellow machinists to troubleshoot machining issues and improve processes.

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience operating manual lathes, mills, and related machine tools in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T symbols.
• Proficiency with precision measuring tools and a commitment to achieving tight tolerances.
• Solid understanding of metal properties, cutting principles, and appropriate tooling selection.
• Effective problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently while contributing to team goals.
• Good communication skills and a proactive attitude toward continuous improvement.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in machining is a plus.
• Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
