About the Role
The Manager, Culture and Engagement partners with people-operations leadership to build and sustain a workplace culture that reflects The Trevor Project's mission-driven values. In a fast-paced nonprofit environment where staff directly support vulnerable youth around the clock, fostering a resilient, inclusive, and engaged workforce is critical to organizational impact.
What You'll Do
- Design, implement, and continuously improve employee engagement strategies aligned with organizational values and strategic priorities
- Lead culture initiatives that reinforce psychological safety, belonging, and equitable participation across all teams
- Develop and manage internal recognition programs, team-building activities, and all-staff events
- Administer employee engagement surveys, analyze findings, and translate data into actionable recommendations for leadership
- Collaborate with HR business partners to integrate culture goals into onboarding, performance cycles, and change management processes
- Serve as an internal consultant to department heads seeking to strengthen team cohesion and morale
- Create and manage communication frameworks that keep staff connected to mission, milestones, and organizational updates
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion programming in coordination with relevant stakeholders
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated experience in culture, employee engagement, internal communications, or a closely related HR specialty
- Strong project management skills with the ability to drive multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to craft messages that resonate across organizational levels
- Data-fluent approach to engagement measurement and program evaluation
- Deep commitment to LGBTQ equity and the well-being of marginalized communities
- Prior nonprofit or mission-driven organization experience is a plus
- Collaborative, empathetic leadership style with a track record of building trust across diverse teams
