About the Role

Dominium tackles the nation's affordable housing shortage by developing and managing quality homes across the country. As a Maintenance Technician at our Legends of Columbia Heights community, you're integral to that mission—keeping buildings running smoothly and residents secure. You'll handle everything from preventive maintenance and emergency repairs to grounds upkeep and resident communication, directly supporting residents' stability and well-being.

What You'll Do

• Perform routine maintenance inspections on building systems, apartments, and common areas
• Execute repair work including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, and structural issues
• Respond to emergency maintenance calls and urgent resident requests
• Maintain grounds and landscaping in compliance with property standards
• Document all maintenance activities and maintain accurate records
• Collaborate with property management and contractors to coordinate larger projects
• Ensure safety and building code compliance across the community

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school certification or apprenticeship preferred
• Proven experience in maintenance, repairs, or building operations
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and general carpentry
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple requests and respond to emergencies calmly
• Excellent communication and customer service skills with residents
• Physical ability to lift, climb, and work in various weather conditions
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
