About the Role
The Area Maintenance Technician position is central to our commitment to providing quality housing and fostering thriving resident communities. You'll be responsible for the upkeep and repair of multiple residential properties, managing preventative maintenance schedules, responding to resident requests, and ensuring all systems operate safely and efficiently. This role requires a proactive approach to property care and strong communication with residents and team members.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs across assigned residential properties, including plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, and general facility upkeep
- Conduct preventative maintenance to avoid costly repairs and extend the life of building systems
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and coordinate work orders
- Maintain detailed records of completed work, materials used, and maintenance schedules
- Identify and report potential safety hazards or code violations
- Collaborate with property management staff to prioritize maintenance needs
- Ensure compliance with building codes and company safety standards
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar hands-on maintenance role
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Ability to diagnose problems and perform repairs efficiently
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Strong communication skills and a resident-focused mindset
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions
- Willingness to work flexibly to meet maintenance needs
