Maintenance Operations & Continuous Improvement Manager (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential logistics organization operating one of the most modern fulfillment operations in the Berlin-Brandenburg region. As Maintenance Operations & Continuous Improvement Manager, you will take strategic responsibility for the performance and ongoing development of automated material-handling systems and maintenance processes at the Falkensee facility.

You will serve as the central interface between automated and manual fulfillment processes, operational teams, your maintenance team, engineering and analytics functions, and external partners. Your role translates overarching site objectives into concrete improvement initiatives, using data to identify optimization opportunities while ensuring equipment availability, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement remain at high levels.

• Hands-on leadership: Manage the maintenance function in daily operations and support Maintenance Engineers and Supervisors in leading their teams effectively. Establish the right structures and priorities to achieve equipment availability targets without micromanaging operational details.
• Strategic maintenance responsibility: Develop long-term performance strategy for the maintenance function and own key KPIs across safety, quality, throughput, and operational efficiency.
• Continuous improvement and operational excellence: Drive site-wide Kaizen initiatives, Lean methodologies, and root-cause analyses. Identify structural improvement opportunities and embed continuous improvement into daily workflows.
• Data-driven process and automation optimization: Analyze complex operational and technical processes using data, identify bottlenecks, and collaborate with technical teams to develop solutions that sustainably improve system reliability and availability.
• Cross-functional interface: Bring together maintenance, engineering, suppliers, planning, analytics, and operations teams to align on common goals and ensure seamless processes across the entire value chain.
• Standards and governance: Work with responsible teams to ensure compliance with safety standards, 5S principles, and operational best practices site-wide, focusing on structures and standards rather than daily technical detail management.

What We're Looking For

• Master's degree (MSc) in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a comparable technical or analytical discipline
• 5+ years professional experience focused on maintenance, operational strategy, continuous improvement, or process engineering
• Strong interest in automation, robotics, and technical maintenance systems
• Demonstrated experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen methodologies, ideally in an automated high-volume environment
• Excellent analytical capabilities and experience with data analysis tools such as Tableau, Excel, Google Sheets, or SQL
• Strategic mindset with the ability to influence cross-functionally and drive larger initiatives
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with enthusiasm for bringing diverse stakeholders together
• Fluent English required; German language skills are a significant advantage
