Maintenance Engineer (m/w/d) – Automation & Instandhaltung

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential logistics organization operating a state-of-the-art fulfillment operation in Berlin. As a Maintenance Engineer specializing in Automation & Maintenance, you will work with modern intralogistics, conveyor systems, and automation equipment to ensure maximum performance of highly automated material-handling facilities.

• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve both electrical and mechanical issues in technical systems, collaborating closely with operational teams
• Supplier coordination: Partner directly with equipment suppliers on complex technical problems requiring specialized solutions
• Root cause analysis: Investigate system failures, prevent recurrence, and implement sustainable technical improvements
• Preventive maintenance: Conduct scheduled maintenance activities to maximize equipment availability and minimize downtime
• Continuous improvement: Initiate and execute optimization projects to enhance system intelligence and operational efficiency

What We're Looking For

• Completed technical apprenticeship, Meister/Techniker certification, or Bachelor's/Master's degree in a technical field (Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, or related discipline)
• 7+ years of experience in a technical maintenance or facilities engineering role
• Hands-on expertise with electrical and mechanical systems, plus experience working with automated conveyor technology, material-handling equipment, or intralogistics systems
• Familiarity with software tools including CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) and PLC-based control systems
• Strong communication skills with a collaborative team-oriented approach
• Self-directed problem solver who takes initiative and delivers results
• Fluent German and English language skills
