The Opportunity

The Closing Coordinator Agri-Access position at Compeer Financial gives you ownership of accurate closings, funding execution, and post-closing verification for real estate-backed deals that support the organization's clients. Working from the Johnston, Iowa location in a full-time capacity, you will coordinate across teams, confirm lien positions, and deliver reliable service that keeps transactions on track. Base pay for this Closing Coordinator Agri-Access opportunity falls between $47,100 and $66,600 USD, with eligibility for variable compensation.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Process transactions under established policies so they meet all lending laws and regulations while assisting multiple business units as needed.
• Gather documentation, complete due diligence on underwriting conditions, and verify legal descriptions, ownership, and property access rights.
• Coordinate with internal teams and outside providers to obtain title commitments, appraisals, and flood determinations; examine title insurance, deeds, UCC filings, and related papers to confirm collateral lien status.
• Determine required legal instruments and signing parties, then prepare or review settlement statements and disbursement agreements for correct fund release and booking.
• Partner with Legal and Title Review colleagues on consents, subordinations, assignments, and other specialized items; draft supplemental forms and file documents with government offices to perfect liens.
• Respond to questions from internal and external parties about closings, legal documents, title insurance, real estate, and chattel collateral.
• Collaborate with sales and clients to organize, verify, and close mortgage loans, short-term loans, and large transactions; provide backup support for Lending Client Coordinators and related servicing.
• Complete post-close audits to verify policy compliance, document actions that secured the intended lien position, and stay current on compliance requirements.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in accounting, business administration, legal studies, agriculture, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• One year of relevant experience (title or legal preferred); no prior leadership experience required.
• Closing Agent License and Insurance Producer License preferred, or ability to obtain within twelve months where applicable.
• Commission as a Notary Public for the state (or ability to obtain within three months, including e-notary options).
• Working knowledge of loan approval processes, personal property security documents, real estate, legal and banking practices, security requirements, and title insurance.
• Familiarity with legal descriptions and collateral documents to prepare accurate paperwork.
• Basic accounting and mathematical skills for calculations, fund reconciliation, and payoff determinations.
• Agriculture background preferred.
• Ability to process complex detailed information accurately; effective interpersonal, oral and written communication, and client service skills.
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities; proficiency with MS Office applications and tools such as Webex.
• Capacity to serve a wide range of internal and external clients, multi-task under tight deadlines in a fast-paced team environment, and hold a valid driver’s license.
