Join Evidence Based Associates as a Safety Coordinator and play a critical role in creating secure, protective environments across our US-based programs. This full-time position reports to our Program Directors and forms the foundation of our commitment to participant safety and staff well-being.
About the Role
The Safety Coordinator develops and executes comprehensive safety protocols aligned with our Atlas HOPE program framework. You'll combine protective measures with therapeutic engagement, ensuring participants, staff, and visiting guests experience environments designed for security without compromising dignity or treatment goals. This role bridges operational safety with the trauma-informed, evidence-based practices central to our mission.
What You'll Do
- Design and implement safety protocols consistent with the Atlas HOPE program model, adapted to each program site's unique needs
- Conduct routine safety inspections, identify hazards, and recommend corrective actions
- Manage security screening and access control measures while maintaining a respectful, therapeutic atmosphere
- Develop individualized safety plans for participants, incorporating cognitive behavioral strategies and collaboration with treatment teams
- Respond to safety incidents, complete incident reports, and implement preventive follow-up
- Train staff on safety procedures, de-escalation techniques, and emergency response protocols
- Collaborate with Program Directors to maintain compliance with safety standards and regulations
- Serve as a resource for participants, staff, and guests regarding safety questions and protocols
What We're Looking For
- Experience in safety coordination, program management, or a related discipline within community-based or clinical settings
- Knowledge of evidence-based intervention methods, particularly cognitive behavioral approaches
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with diverse populations and staff teams
- Commitment to trauma-informed practice and dignity-centered care
- Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail in maintaining compliance and safety standards
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries while building trust with participants and colleagues
