About the Role
As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA), you'll work under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist, delivering evidence-based therapy services to skilled nursing facility residents. You'll support the occupational therapy team in a fast-paced SNF environment where your clinical skills directly impact patient outcomes and recovery.
What You'll Do
- Implement occupational therapy treatment plans developed by the supervising OT
- Assist patients with activities of daily living and mobility goals
- Conduct therapeutic activities and exercises tailored to individual patient needs
- Monitor and document patient progress during each therapy session
- Educate patients and families on adaptive techniques and home safety strategies
- Maintain therapy equipment, supplies, and treatment spaces
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient care goals
Requirements
- Current COTA certification (AOTA certified or eligible)
- Valid occupational therapy assistant license for the state of Washington
- CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a clinical team
- Physical capability to assist patients with mobility and positioning
- Background check clearance
