Role Overview
As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you'll work 40 hours per week in 8-hour shifts, supporting patients recovering from injury and illness. You'll be an essential member of the rehabilitation team, helping residents regain mobility, strength, and independence while working under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. This travel role brings you to Pasco to make a real difference in patients' recovery journeys.
Core Duties
- Assist patients with therapeutic exercises and mobility activities prescribed by the Physical Therapist
- Support patients during functional training and activities of daily living (ADL) practice
- Help residents transfer safely and position them correctly for optimal comfort and healing
- Maintain and sanitize therapy equipment and treatment areas
- Monitor and report patient progress, responses to therapy, and any concerns to the supervising therapist
- Communicate compassionately with patients and families to encourage participation in rehabilitation
- Document patient sessions and outcomes accurately in medical records
Requirements
- Current Physical Therapy Assistant certification and valid Washington state license or ability to obtain licensure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift, assist, and support patients safely and with proper body mechanics
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a skilled nursing facility environment
