Lender II, SFG-Aircraft Finance, South Central US Territory

1st Source is hiring a Lender II specializing in aircraft finance for our South Central US territory, based in South Bend, St. Joseph County. This full-time position offers an opportunity to originate specialty finance loans and build a robust client portfolio in the aviation sector.

About the Role

You will work to expand and manage our aircraft finance business by sourcing new loan opportunities and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients. From initial prospect identification through loan funding and ongoing account administration, you'll own the complete customer experience while coordinating with our underwriting and operations teams.

What You'll Do

• Generate new business opportunities by identifying and qualifying aviation and aircraft finance prospects in your assigned territory
• Develop relationships with new clients while managing and growing our existing aircraft finance customer base
• Evaluate credit applications, structure financing proposals, and guide customers through approval workflows
• Oversee loan boarding and ensure new accounts transition smoothly into our servicing operations
• Provide client support and manage portfolio administration for ongoing relationships
• Work with underwriting, credit, and operations teams to deliver accurate, timely loan closings

What We're Looking For

• Experience in business development, sales, or client relationship management, particularly in financial services or lending
• Understanding of specialty finance or aviation markets; experience in aircraft lending a plus
• Strong analytical skills and credit evaluation capability
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation abilities
• Self-directed approach to territory management and business growth
• Comfort with financial platforms and CRM systems
