Join Insight Global as a Field Service Technician at our Grand Central, Manhattan location, where you'll maintain and support the baggage screening systems that keep transportation operations running smoothly. This is a full-time position serving a busy East Coast hub.
About the Role
As a Field Service Technician, you'll be the hands-on expert responsible for the upkeep and repair of baggage scanning equipment across our service territory. You'll work with sophisticated electronic and mechanical systems, providing both preventive maintenance and emergency repairs to keep screening operations moving without interruption.
What You'll Do
- Service and maintain up to 10 baggage screening units, ensuring peak operational performance
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and determine effective repair solutions using structured troubleshooting methods
- Perform both electronic and mechanical repairs, applying strong technical knowledge of imaging and conveyor systems
- Execute preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifecycle
- Communicate clearly with on-site personnel and end users to understand issues and confirm resolution
- Document service activities, repair history, and maintenance records for compliance and operational tracking
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience troubleshooting electronic and mechanical equipment in a service environment
- Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to isolate root causes and implement lasting fixes
- Technical product knowledge or willingness to build expertise on specialized screening systems
- Excellent customer service orientation and ability to build positive working relationships
- Reliability and responsiveness—you're often the first point of contact when systems need attention
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the service area
