Environmental Manager

This is a full-time, on-site position where your work directly supports one of America's largest family-owned food producers and its network of independent farmers and ranchers.

About the Role

As Environmental Manager at Perdue Farms, Inc., you'll oversee environmental compliance, sustainability initiatives, and regulatory adherence across our Sioux City facility and operations. You'll develop and implement environmental policies that protect natural resources while supporting our mission to raise pork, beef, and lamb humanely and sustainably. This role bridges operational excellence with environmental stewardship, ensuring we meet or exceed all federal, state, and local environmental standards.

What You'll Do

• Manage environmental compliance programs, permits, and regulatory reporting for the facility
• Monitor and improve waste management, water conservation, and emissions reduction practices
• Develop and execute sustainability initiatives that align with company and industry standards
• Conduct environmental audits and inspections; document findings and implement corrective actions
• Collaborate with production teams to integrate environmental best practices into daily operations
• Stay current on environmental regulations and guide the organization through policy changes
• Maintain environmental documentation and prepare reports for state and federal agencies
• Support efforts to advance sustainable farming practices across our independent farmer network

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, agriculture, or related field
• 3+ years of environmental management or compliance experience, preferably in food production or agriculture
• Knowledge of EPA regulations, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, and state environmental requirements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills; ability to explain complex environmental issues to diverse audiences
• Experience with environmental monitoring systems and data management
• Commitment to sustainability and continuous improvement
