International PFAS Forensics Subject Matter Expert

CDM Smith is hiring an International PFAS Forensics Subject Matter Expert for a full-time position based in Warwick, Rhode Island. This is an on-site role located in Kent County.

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced forensics professional to lead investigations and assessments on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) contamination. As a Subject Matter Expert, you will provide technical guidance on complex PFAS forensics projects, synthesize emerging science and regulatory developments, and support our team's work across international and domestic engagements. This position requires deep expertise in PFAS environmental assessment, contamination pathways, and forensic analysis methodologies.

What You'll Do

• Conduct and oversee PFAS forensic investigations, including source identification and fate-and-transport analysis
• Evaluate PFAS contamination data and interpret results within regulatory and scientific frameworks
• Develop technical strategies for PFAS site assessments and remedial investigations
• Provide expert consultation to project teams and clients on PFAS forensics findings and implications
• Stay current with PFAS regulatory developments and incorporate them into project scope and deliverables
• Lead training and knowledge-sharing initiatives across the organization
• Support proposals and business development for PFAS-related projects

What We're Looking For

• Advanced degree in environmental science, chemistry, geology, or related field
• Demonstrated expertise in PFAS contamination assessment and forensic analysis
• Proficiency in environmental investigation methodologies and regulatory requirements
• Strong technical writing and presentation skills for reports and stakeholder communication
• Ability to interpret complex environmental and analytical data
• Experience with PFAS remediation technologies and risk assessment
• Professional credentials or advanced certifications in environmental science or related discipline preferred
