As an Instructional Aide I – Preschool, Special Education, you will partner with certified teachers and support staff at Gary Knox Elementary to help preschool-aged students in the special education program thrive. Key Responsibilities
- Assist the lead teacher in delivering instruction and daily classroom activities for preschool special education students.
- Provide individualized and small-group support tailored to each child’s learning plan.
- Help maintain a safe, structured, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Reinforce social, communication, and developmental skills through guided activities.
- Collaborate respectfully and effectively with teachers, staff, and students.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or GED is required.
- In addition, candidates must meet one of the following: hold an Associate’s degree or higher; have completed at least sixty (60) college credit hours; or earn a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment within the previous ten years.
- Prior experience working with students is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and harmoniously with both staff and students.
- Applicants should be prepared to attach a copy of their high school diploma or GED and college transcripts with their application.
