Implementations Engineer

Portless is seeking a full-time Implementations Engineer to lead technical deployments and ensure successful customer onboarding for our platform across the United States. This is a fully remote position where you'll own the end-to-end implementation experience for our clients.

The Opportunity

As an Implementations Engineer at Portless, you'll be the technical bridge between our product and our customers' success. You'll take ownership of complex implementations, architecting solutions that align with each client's unique business requirements. Your work directly impacts customer satisfaction, retention, and their ability to scale with our platform. You'll grow your technical expertise while building relationships with key stakeholders and mastering our product's capabilities at a deep level.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical implementation phase from kickoff through deployment, managing timelines and setting clear expectations
• Configure and customize the Portless platform to meet specific client needs and integration requirements
• Conduct discovery sessions with clients to understand their business workflows and technical environment
• Design implementation plans that balance quick wins with long-term value
• Provide hands-on training and documentation to empower client teams
• Troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with engineering to resolve blockers
• Gather customer feedback and insights to inform product improvements

What We're Looking For

• 2+ years in a client-facing technical role such as implementations, solutions engineering, or DevOps
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with comfort diagnosing unfamiliar systems
• Experience with APIs, databases, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Excellent communication skills—you can explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and vice versa
• Ability to manage multiple implementations simultaneously and adapt to shifting priorities
• Self-motivation and ownership mentality; you take initiative without constant direction
• Technical writing ability to create clear documentation and knowledge resources
