What You'll Do
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and installation plans.
- Position and secure furnaces, air handlers, condensers, ductwork, and related components.
- Run refrigerant lines, electrical wiring, and condensate drains in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
- Perform pressure tests, evacuations, and charge refrigerant systems to achieve proper operation.
- Conduct startup procedures, verify airflow, and adjust controls for optimal comfort.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, following all OSHA and site‑specific safety protocols.
- Document completed work, note any deficiencies, and communicate progress to the crew leader.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience installing HVAC equipment in new‑construction settings.
- Strong familiarity with residential split systems, packaged units, and light‑commercial equipment.
- Ability to read and follow technical diagrams and installation manuals.
- Knowledge of EPA Section 608 refrigerant handling standards; certification preferred.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and torque wrenches used in HVAC work.
- Physical stamina to lift equipment weighing up to 75 lb and work in varied weather conditions.
- Reliable transportation to the Tolono job site and a valid driver’s license.
- Commitment to quality craftsmanship and teamwork.
